FAQ

What is the fastest way to earn XP in Enshrouded?
Combat and mining are the two best activities for earning plenty of XP quickly. Look for a spot with large numbers of ores, enemies, or both so you can stack both kinds of XP in one trip.
Can I change XP settings to level up faster?
Yes. Before loading your world, click Edit and select the Custom difficulty option, where you can adjust Enemy Amount, Mining XP, Quest & Exploration XP, and Combat XP. These changes are optional and are not required to use farming locations.
Where is the best early XP farming spot?
The Mark of Sameth in Revelwood is one of the best early locations. It is a copper mine with a fair number of enemies; clearing the enemies and mining all the ore yields thousands of XP.
How do I make the Kindlewastes Iron Ore vein respawn?
Teleport at least 500 meters away, return to the main menu, load your world again, and go back to the mine to find the vein fully restored.
Do I need to upgrade my Flame Level to farm the Kindlewastes Iron Ore?
No. That spot has no Deadly Shroud, so you can farm the giant Iron Ore vein even if you have not upgraded your Flame Level enough times yet.
Do higher-level enemies give more XP?
Yes. The stronger the enemies and the higher their level, shown by the number next to their energy bar, the more experience they yield.
What should I do if I want skill points rather than XP?
Finding and destroying Shroud Roots and clearing Elixir Wells is the best option for getting plenty of skill points quickly.

Why leveling up matters and which activities give the most XP

Leveling up in Enshrouded grants extra skill points, and those points go a long way toward making your character stronger. If you want to grind some XP before moving on to your next destination, combat and mining are the two best activities for earning plenty of XP quickly.

The most efficient approach is to find a spot that contains large numbers of ores, enemies, or both. Mining and fighting in the same place lets you stack resource XP and combat XP in a single trip.

If your real goal is skill points rather than raw XP, the best option is to find and destroy Shroud Roots and clear Elixir Wells; purifying Elixir Wells and destroying Shroud Roots remains an indispensable priority for direct skill points.

Optional: adjust custom XP settings before loading your world

Solo players or anyone who prefers faster progression can raise XP gains through the custom difficulty options. These changes are completely optional, and you do not need to touch any of these settings to take advantage of the farming locations below.

The custom settings let you increase the experience multipliers for mining, combat, and quests and exploration, as well as the number of enemies in the world. Because these changes are optional, they do not affect the effectiveness of the traditional progression routes.

  1. Before you load your world, click the Edit button.
  2. Select the Custom difficulty option.
  3. Adjust the settings you want, including Enemy Amount, Mining XP, Quest & Exploration XP, and Combat XP.
  4. Load the world with your chosen settings.

Early XP farming at the Mark of Sameth in Revelwood

The Mark of Sameth in Revelwood is one of the best early places for XP farming. It is a copper mine with a fair number of enemies inside, and clearing the whole area yields thousands of experience points through the combination of fighting and collecting resources.

Placing a Flame Altar outside the mine entrance gives you a fast travel point back to the Mark of Sameth. Keep the altar’s area of influence far from the resources so it does not cover the resource sources and prevent them from respawning.

  1. Travel to the Mark of Sameth in Revelwood.
  2. Defeat the enemies inside the copper mine.
  3. Once the area is clear, mine every bit of ore you can see.
  4. Place a Flame Altar outside the mine entrance for fast travel, keeping its area of influence away from the resources.

Iron Ore farming in the Kindlewastes

Once you progress far enough to reach the Kindlewastes, mining Iron Ore in cave passages and similar underground areas becomes the best progression option. The ideal spot is a cave passage due northwest of the Kindlewastes Ancient Spire.

A huge Iron Ore vein sits right in front of the mineshaft entrance and can yield somewhere between 3,000 and 6,000 XP from that vein alone, depending on your XP settings. The location has no Deadly Shroud, so you can farm the vein even if you have not upgraded your Flame Level enough times yet.

  1. From the Kindlewastes Ancient Spire, face the northwest side.
  2. Glide all the way across the chasm.
  3. While airborne, turn slightly to the left and look for a road leading to a mineshaft.
  4. Mine the giant Iron Ore vein in front of the entrance.
  5. To force the vein to respawn, teleport at least 500 meters away.
  6. Return to the main menu and load your world again.
  7. Go back to the mine to find the vein fully restored.

Enemy farming, bosses, and quests

Fighting enemies is one of the simplest ways to collect XP. Pick an area where the enemies yield enough experience, build a Flame Altar there, and clear the enemies; then exit to the main menu and reload the save to start at the last visited flame altar and farm the enemies again, or at least some of them.

The stronger the enemies and the higher their level, shown by the number next to their energy bar, the more experience they yield. Known intermediate bosses such as the Plunderer Mother and the Brut Monstrosity can be fought repeatedly and grant experience points in addition to their trophies. Every quest that lands in your journal also grants experience.
