FAQ

Is the Bridge Construction Report chest on Braelyn Bridge?
No. The treasure is hidden below the bridge, underneath the middle pillar, so you need to descend to the base of the bridge and venture into the Shroud.
Which pillar holds the chest at Braelyn Bridge?
The round pillar on the northern side, directly above the 'N' in Braelyn. Head to its northern side, face south, and pickaxe the rubble to open a small entryway to the chest.
What do you get for completing the Bridge Construction Report?
The chest contains a random material or weapon, and completing the quest also grants 75 XP.

How the Bridge Construction Report quest starts

The Bridge Construction Report quest starts when you hire the Carpenter, who gives a tip that he hid a chest on Braelyn Bridge during its formation. The objective is to search the Braelyn Bridge Pillars and find a treasure chest for the Carpenter.

The quest description is simple, but the location is not: the treasure is hidden in the middlemost pillar of the bridge, and the chest sits below the bridge rather than on its deck. Reaching it means breaking through rubble first.

Where Braelyn Bridge is and how to reach its base

Braelyn Bridge lies just north of the starting area, crossing over a chasm of Shroud. The chest is at the very base of the bridge, so you will eventually need to venture into the Shroud to get it.

Once you arrive, you can either cross over the bridge and jump down, or head straight into the Shroud leading underneath the bridge. Another approach is to glide down from a platform, which is the most direct method; a longer walking route requires moving toward the right side before the bridge’s entrance into the Shroud.

The Shroud area underneath the bridge is flat with minimal enemies, so navigating to the pillar should not be difficult.

  1. Travel north from the starting area to Braelyn Bridge, which crosses a chasm of Shroud.
  2. Choose a descent: cross the bridge and jump down, head straight into the Shroud underneath the bridge, or glide down from a platform.
  3. For the walking route, move toward the right side before the bridge’s entrance into the Shroud.

Find the round pillar and break the rubble

On the map, the bridge area shows two larger pillar shapes: one long and one a smaller circle. The treasure is on the round pillar at the northern side.

At that round pillar, which sits directly above the ‘N’ in Braelyn, head to the northern side and face south to find a pile of rubble. Breaking it with a pickaxe reveals a small entryway leading directly to the treasure chest.

  1. Head to the base of the bridge and direct yourself toward the middle pillar.
  2. Identify the round pillar on the northern side, directly above the ‘N’ in Braelyn.
  3. Stand on the northern side of that pillar and face south to spot the pile of rubble.
  4. Pickaxe the rubble until you spot the chest and a small entryway opens to it.
  5. Open the chest to complete the objective.

Rewards for completing the quest

Finding the chest marks the objective as complete. The chest gives either a material or a weapon along with a decent amount of XP; the treasure itself is random, and completing the quest also grants 75 XP.

Two extra chests near Braelyn Bridge

Beyond the quest chest, two additional chests can be found around the bridge. One is near the central pillar, where a wooden beam has additional levels underneath it: get on top of the beam and look eastward to locate a chest on a wooden ledge.

The second is at the broken-down end of the location. Walk toward it until you reach the spot where the bridge has collapsed, where you will find climbing gear; underneath are wooden levels, and jumping onto them lets you spot the chest on the west side of the lowest wooden level.

  1. For the first extra chest, climb on top of the wooden beam near the central pillar and look eastward to a wooden ledge.
  2. For the second, walk to the broken-down end of the bridge and find the climbing gear.
  3. Jump onto the wooden levels underneath and check the west side of the lowest level for the chest.
